Introduction:
Appearance: Colorless to light yellow transparent liquid.
Odor: Has a special mercaptan odor, which is quite pungent.

Chemical properties
Contains two thiol groups (-SH) and has strong reducing properties. It is easily oxidized in the air to form disulfides. It can react with many metal ions to form stable metal complexes. It can undergo nucleophilic substitution reactions, and the hydrogen atoms in the thiol group can be replaced by other groups, which is used for functional group transformation in organic synthesis.

Organic synthesis: used as raw materials to synthesize complex organic compounds, used to prepare thioether intermediates, and widely used in fields such as pharmaceutical chemistry.
